Moja Festival September 29 to October 9 MOJA, a Swahili word meaning “One,” is the appropriate name for this festival celebration of harmony amongst all people in our community. The Festival highlights the many African-American and Caribbean contributions to western and world cultures. MOJA’s wide range of events include visual arts, classical music, dance, gospel concert, jazz concert, poetry, R&B concert, storytelling, theatre, children’s activities, traditional crafts, ethnic food, and much, much more. French Quarter Art Walk October 7, 5-8 pm Stroll the cobbled streets and gas lit alley ways of the French Quarter, located within the original walled city of Charleston between S. Market and Tradd, and Meeting and the waterfront past E. Bay. Discover the works of well over 500 artists representing a diverse variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary. The Taste of Charleston October 8 and 9 Held at historic Boone Hall Plantation this celebration of Lowcountry cuisine will feature 50 of Charleston’s restaurants serving sample size portions of their signature dishes + beer and wine.
